MEET THE COMEDIANS

Headliner: Monique Marvez

Monique Marvez is a force of nature. She has been described as a modern-day Mae West, a Latina Bette Midler, and a better-looking Dr. Phil.

Moniqe has amassed 4 Showtime specials, including “The Latin Divas of Comedy,” “Snoop Dogg Presents: The Bad Girls of Comedy,” “Women of a Certain Age,” and her own one hour special, “Not Skinny, Not Blonde,” which is on Prime Video.

Featuring Butch Lord, Jan Brenner, Suzie Sexton, and Gene Moore.

BUTCH LORD

Butch Lord is a twenty-year veteran of stand up comedy, headlining comedy clubs across the country. His standup shows are high energy, as Butch takes the stage with a flurry of loud music, one-liners, and short stories that grab an audience’s attention and never let go! His hard, edgy look is quickly softened by his carefree and lighthearted view of himself and the world around him. His genuine enthusiasm for performing, and his obvious passion for making people laugh shine through brilliantly and endear him to even the most conservative audiences.

JAN BRENNER

Jan Brennar began his comedy career in the early 80’s. After class, he would travel into Manhattan and perform with many comedians who later became famous. Jan graduated from high school with Jerry Seinfeld in 1972. While Seinfeld when on to make tens of millions, Jan often jokes about making “TENS” of dollars in the business. If you have seen his HBO Comedy special, that would be a miracle, because he has never done one. He currently performs in Awatukee at the HA HA Tukee Comedy Club. Jan says, “Making people laugh is one of the best gifts I can give.”

SUZIE SEXTON

Suzie Sexton started her comedy journey at LAFF”S Comedy Caffe in 2020 after a family reunion with her dysfunctional relatives. She has performed at open mics there as well as the comedy Spot in Scottsdale, The Fox and Rialto Theaters, and she has been a frequent guest at The Estrogen Hour in Tucson. This will be the 12th annual Stand Up to Stop Violence benefit which she has both co-produced and performed in. “Violence sucks, and I’m doing what I can to end it,” she says.

GENE MOORE

Gene Moore is a writer, actor, and comedian. Gene’s humor is high energy and fast paced. His style is “hopeful” observational. comedy, which is based upon his experience as a gay, Hispanic, Army veteran. He can entertain any audience with his relatable, vulnerable, and humorous standup. He has performed at Stir Crazy, Mic Drop Mania, Funny Bones, Stand Up Live, Dallas Comedy Club, and many others.
